Most Common Ailments Include:

The Message – Catch Disease Early!
We can catch most disease early with proper planning. At Valley Center Veterinary Clinic a thorough examination is performed. The veterinarian will assess these following body systems in your pet: eyes, ears, nose and throat, heart and lung, lymph nodes, abdomen, skeletal, gastrointestinal, reproductive and neurologic systems.
We recommend blood work and urinalysis on every pet over 8 years of age. These tests can pick up kidney and liver problems, diabetes, electrolyte problems, infections, thyroid disease, anemia and other bone marrow issues.
Chest radiographs should also be taken to assess the heart size and shape. These images will also help us evaluate the lungs for cancer.
Lastly, we can visualize internal organs with an ultrasound machine. Dr. Clarke performed her annual routine ultrasound on her dog this year and found a nodule on the spleen. As a result, we were able to remove the spleen quickly and determine if the growth was benign or malignant. It’s important to note that her dog was acting completely NORMAL when she found this tumor.
Our goal in discounting senior packages is to screen for – and catch – disease early so we can extend their healthy lives.
